Instruction

Jay Redders offers baseball and softball instruction to all ages and levels at Hitters Sportsplex. Jay brings extensive experience as a baseball player, instructor and coach, along with a strong understanding and passion for the game. He played two years at the collegiate level for Madison Area Technical College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jay also holds a Masters in Education from Aurora University. 

Jay has been a Physical Education teacher since 1991 in the Madison and Middleton-Cross Plains Area School Districts. He has coached baseball at the high school and youth levels for over 20 years, enjoying a solid track record of success. He served as head varsity baseball coach at Waunakee High School, JV baseball coach at Madison West High and freshman baseball coach at Middleton High School. Jay has also been a head coach of competitive youth teams for more than 12 years, leading them to various Division and State championships and trips to Regional tournaments throughout the Midwest.Hitters SportsPlex continues to offer one of the best baseball instruction staffs in the Midwest. Our staff consists of former major league players, major league scouts, and professional coaches with decades of experience teaching baseball.

Sessions

Jay offers ½ hour and 1-hour sessions, small group sessions, and pre-season programs that are designed to prepare baseball and softball pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders, and hitters for the season. He is available for customized small group sessions, team practice sessions and seminars as well.
